Are you all in? The last blog in this series covers being in with all your soul. The soul is the spiritual part of a human being. What are you to do with all your soul? Deuteronomy 4:29, 6:5, 10:12, 30:6 and Matthew 22:37 – Look them up.
Just as the heart is the center of physical life pumping life-giving blood throughout the body; the brain/mind is the center of the thought life and affects the actions of the body and produces the words of our lips, so the soul is the center of your spiritual life.
Proverbs 20:27 say, The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart. The Lord’s light that searches the darkest places in our hearts is the spirit of who we are. 1 Corinthians 2:10 says, But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes the deep things of God.
The Holy Spirit communes, tabernacles within our soul revealing the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 3:16, Do you not know you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells within you? My daughter says since our bodies are the temple, we are always at church. Her thought was we should be praising and worshiping God like we do at church but do it every day. The words we speak while in the world, would we say them at church?
When we love, seek, and serve with all our souls, are we not in the closest communion with God possible? Our spirit with the Holy Spirit loving, seeking and serving God? The kicker is the Holy Spirit already seeks out the deep things of God. Their communion is perfect. It’s just our participation that is lacking. Because the Holy Spirit is in perfect communion with God, the Spirit gives us the power to do whatever He calls us to do whether it is locally, nationally, or abroad (Acts 1:8). The Spirit gives us fruit so we an display Christ wherever we go.
During this study of “Are You All In”, there’s a word in common with heart, mind, strength and soul. The word is all. If you notice, all is not quantified. My physical strength pales in comparison to body builders, and if we were to measure my strength against them, I would be found lacking.
If you were to quantify or measure your all against Rev. Billy Graham, how would you measure up? No one is disqualified by the size of their all. God knows what your all looks like and knows when you are disobedient your failure to give Him your all.
So the questions that remain are:
Are you serving, seeking, loving, obeying, trusting, believing, and praising God with ALL your heart?
If you aren’t, what do you need to repent of and change?
Are you loving God with ALL your mind?
Is there something in your mind for which you need to repent and let go of? DO you need to make something right with an individual?
How can you better love God with all your mind?
Are you loving God with ALL your physical strength, mental strength, emotional strength, and spiritual strength?
If no, what do you need to lay down at the altar?
Are you seeking, loving, serving and obeying God with ALL your soul?
Are you missing out on perfect communion with God and the Holy Spirit?
What are you afraid of?
What do you need to get rid of, unload and repent?
Serving God in ministry to others in the body of Christ is not easy, but it becomes more difficult when you aren’t where you need to be loving God with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul. What changes do you need to make to be all in? Are you willing to make them? Write down what the changes need to be. Post them somewhere visible. Share them with an accountability partner, and make the change.
