Girlfriend Ministry was born from a dream my eldest daughter, Kristy, had to equip women with the tools needed to study God’s Word for themselves and develop supportive Christian friendships. When we founded the ministry in 2012, I had already been involved in women’s ministry since 2000. I am the director of Girlfriend Ministry’s sister ministry, Girlfriend Circle of Hope, which is a support group for women with cancer.

My husband, Earl, and I have been married for more than 50 years. We love spending time with our two daughters, their husbands, and our four practically perfect grandchildren who call me Honey. Although I’m retired from my long career in education, I’ll always be a teacher and a student. I hold certificates in women’s ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and I’m an avid reader of Christian books. I love sharing what I learn through teaching, writing, and serving in Girlfriend Ministry.

My favorite scripture is: “’For My [God’s] thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My [God’s] ways,” sayeth the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My [God’s] ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” (Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV). I can trust God’s wisdom and His ways.
